Accepting Payments on Your Website
At Simple Nerds, we create standard informational websites for all types of organizations, from Small Businesses, to Non-Profits. At times, our customers require some sort of payment capability, from selling services, to accepting donations. In this brief article, we’d like to share with you some basics when it comes to accepting online payments, as well as what payment services we’re capable of providing.
Paypal
When it comes to online payments, we currently only set up Paypal. There are 3 key reasons for this:
Paypal is the most trusted payment format on the internet
Many of your customers already have a Paypal account and trust them. If your customer does not have Paypal, they can still use their credit card to make payments. The most important reason: Paypal is secure. Paypal has been the leader in online payments for years now, and they have excellent security. We currently do not setup any other forms of payment other than Paypal.
Selling up to 10 Items
We can help you setup your site so that you can sell items, services, or accept donations. We specialize in setting up Paypal ordering for up to around 10 items or services. We do not set up accounts which require the selling of many items (such as 50 or 100 items). If you are trying to setup a website that sells many items like this, then you may need an E-commerce Online Shop, which requires additional software that we currently do not offer.
Please keep in mind that when we help you initially setup your website, we will ask you how many items you plan to sell. When we ask this, we are asking how many items total you will be selling.
- If you plan to sell 5 to start, and 50 to 100 items later, then that means that you may need an E-commerce Online Shop which we cannot currently help with.
- If you plan to sell 5 items now, and up to 10 items later, then we can help you.
